For many years, the Savoy family, through the Savoy Foundation, has been dedicated to funding innovative research projects to find a cure for epilepsy. It is the only private Canadian foundation supporting research across the country. Every year, it gives numerous scholarships and grants to students and doctors across Canada in hopes of finding a remedy. Many of the scholarship recipients have become famous in their field, often as a result of the funding they received from the Foundation. In fact, all of the doctors and scientists on the scientific committee were recipients. Therefore, as a token of appreciation for the scholarship’s they received. They are delighted to give back by serving on the committee.
Since 1971, more than $10 million have been granted to researchers from many different countries working in the field of epilepsy in universities and hospitals across Canada.
